"Yuni's Handicraft", she put her name for the business. Started in 1995 and use the part of her house until now for production process and showroom. Is located in Sorogenen, Nitikan, Umbulharjo, Yogyakarta.
She was not born in handicrafter family. But, she said that her mother's business who sell handicraft products in Beringharjo market sway her. And she chose batik application. She focus on making hand-fan, hat, sandal, bag and pursue. All made of batik material. She started when got first order, making batik hand-fan for Hajj pilgrimBeisde its she also made bead items.
YUni produce many size of fan. Regularly size are 45 cm and 65 cm and big size, 95 cm, for wall decoration. She supply to many art-shop in Yogyakarta. Many tourists from France, Japan, Korea and Malay bought her products. Not directly, but via tourist guides. She helped by 26 workers making fan, hat and another products made of batik material and 25 workers making bead items.
1995, her business came down. One time she walked in front of Apikri office and met Mr. Amir Panzuri. Since that time she sent many samples. But no order until 2002 she got big order from Australia through Apikri. She gets regularly order from Apikri, beside produce for art-shops. But now she just helped by 4 workers.
Yuni's businees very meaningfull for her family life, add their income together with her husband expert (Muhammad Najib Billah) as consultant and computer technician. They have 4 children. 2008, the oldest learn in second grade of university. The youngest study in third class of elemantary school.
May 27, 2006 earthquake attacked. All of her family was safe no one injured. But her house was crack and she stop the business for a while. Apikri gave her sewing machine and motivated continou her business. Apikri got many fund from Apikri's trading partners from Japan, US, Canada and Netherland to help handicraft producers who was a victim of earthquake. And Yuni also thanks to them.
